I’m shaving off my beard! Yes, you heard that right. It’s all coming off. But, it’s for a good cause; I’m working instead on a mustache in support of MOVEMBER!

I’m going to need YOUR help in deciding what style of ’stache I’m going to be rocking, so leave your vote in the comments after you’ve made your donation. I’ll add your vote to the others, and the style with the most votes is what I’ll do!

Movember is an annual event that brings much needed attention to cancers that affect men. It’s a global event, and I’m proud to be participating this year. I’m doing this by growing a Moustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a mustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation. The funds raised go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LIVESTRONG).

What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 18-35. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

• The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance program which has the goal of improving survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40.
• Research initiatives to further understand the biology of adolescent and young adult cancers.

When we walk in, it looks like The Girl’s former Boy is sitting in the corner, with a new girl.

She’s looks like someone who REALLY enjoys her food. I’m sitting where I can watch them casually, and she’s all about the food. When he leans over to show her his phone, she snuggles in close, and then turns her head to finish her mozzarella stick. When she leans back in her chair to laugh and flirt, she stuffs a handful of french fries in her mouth as she’s coming back down. When the Boy puts his hand on hers to get close, she switches her sandwich to the other hand.

Turns out, it’s not The Girl’s former Boy. Not-Boy looks remarkably like him though. Once we decide this, we write them out of our minds.

They come galloping back in though, as she starts to cough. Not a dry, wheezy cough like a dusty road, but a heavy, grinding cough like I’ve been doing these past few days. I turn to My Bride and say “Sounds like she may have a touch of what I’ve had…” The Bride nods.

The bill comes, and we pack up to go. The cough is becoming distracting now. She’s trying to laugh it off, but heads are beginning to turn. There might be something wrong with her. The faces of the other diners are scrunched in disgust, or heads are shaking in contempt.

We take an alternate route to the cash register, so as not to pass by her. As we’re settling up, she runs past us and launches out the front door. I can see her out there, coughing and slapping her chest.

As I go through the front door, she’s just coming back in and walking to her table. I get in the car, and pick My Bride up at the front door. As she gets in the car, she says “Good thing we left when we did. She just threw up all over her table.”
